Sarah Grove Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Sarah Grove, FNP-C, CARN-AP
Lead Nurse Practitioner

Sarah Grove, FNP-C, CARN-AP, specializes in caring for patients with substance use and other acute/chronic health conditions. Her background is as a primary care and addiction medicine provider. Sarah is passionate about providing care to those in marginalized/underserved communities and working collaborative with patients to best meet their individual needs. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas in Austin and her Bachelor of Science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Sarah is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. 

She also speaks Spanish, having spent time in Guatemala as a Peace Corp volunteer. When she’s not at work, Sarah enjoys running, hiking, baking and spending time with her 2 children and 2 dogs.

Peter Musu, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Peter Musu, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with about eight years of experience in behavioral health. He earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
He specializes in assessing and diagnosing mental illnesses, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance use disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, etc., and provides evidence-based care with passion and compassion. He supports his clients’ well-being and goals and has experience in inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth settings. He collaborates with his clients to reach their highest levels of functioning.
Outside of clinical practice, he enjoys continuous professional development and is married with four beautiful children. Leisurely, he likes to play Scrabble.

Shaniqua Johnson Pierce,

Lead Therapist

Dr. Shaniqua Johnson Pierce, MSW, LCSW, Ed.D., is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment across various clinical settings, including schools, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Shaniqua has expertise in working with youth and adults who have been impacted by complex trauma, substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety, and uses an eclectic approach to treatment by incorporating the expressive arts and other evidence-based practices such as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
Shaniqua takes a holistic approach to counseling and truly believes that every human being brings something magical to the world. Her career continues to be dedicated to ensuring that all members who seek therapy are reminded of their full potential, strengths, and ability to achieve their goals despite the adversity they have endured.
Shaniqua is a classically trained cellist and enjoys playing music, traveling, cooking, attending live concerts, and spending quality time with her family (spouse, two children, and her dog Jewels) at sporting events in her spare time.

Annette Skinner is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with more than 15 years in the mental health and addiction fields. Her diverse experience spans outpatient and community care, with a strong commitment to reducing stigma around HIV/AIDS, mental health, and addiction.

Annette is a compassionate, empathetic therapist who believes in the process of therapy. She utilizes a warm, nonjudgmental, client-centered approach to help individuals better understand their patterns of feeling and thinking. Annette incorporates Mindfulness practices and is proficient with Motivational Interviewing, the Stages of Change Model, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Restorative Practices.

Amy Gorman is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Credentialed Mental Health Screener who has over 25 years of experience providing mental health and substance use counseling. She has extensive experience in crisis intervention and in coping with anxiety and mood instability. Amy believes that her lived recovery experience supports her empathetic, always judgment-free approach. She believes in a person-centered philosophy, which allows each member to work towards their own ideal recovery and wellbeing goals, integrating some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and techniques, including Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Trauma Narrative Therapy. Outside of work, Amy enjoys baking, theater, and spending time with her husband and daughter.

Laniece McIntyre, LCSW
Therapist

Laniece McIntyre is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 8 years of dedicated experience in mental health and substance use treatment. Her clinical background spans multiple dynamic environments, including outpatient clinics, educational settings, and child protective services. As a community therapist with Wayspring, Laniece meets you where you are. She travels to your home, office, or community setting so you can receive the support you need in a comfortable environment.

Laniece provides compassionate mental health therapy for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use challenges, and low self-esteem. She understands that every client is unique, so she tailors her approach to meet your specific needs. Using a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and mindfulness practices, Laniece helps you identify negative thought patterns, build on your natural resilience, and take actionable steps toward a better quality of life. 
Outside of work, Laniece values spending quality time with loved ones, unwinding in nature, and prioritizing self-care—even if that simply means relaxing quietly at home.

Jenn Fontal, LPCMH
Intake Therapist

Jennifer Fontal is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Mindfulness-Informed Professional with 10 years of experience across residential, substance use, hospital, school, and private practice settings. She has worked with individuals throughout the lifespan and finds deep fulfillment in witnessing human resilience.

She resonates with the idea that “you cannot get better until you have a preference for living in reality.” She holds space for clients to gently explore their experiences, especially during vulnerable moments. Using a person-centered approach, she compassionately supports clients in reconnecting with their inner strength while building skills to support their healing.

Outside of her work, she is an avid Zumba lover, a foodie, and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
