Sheriva Hunter
Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

I started in the healthcare field 27 years ago as an LPN. Over the years, I went on to earn my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in 2009 and my Master of Science in Nursing from St. Xavier University in 2013. As a nurse practitioner, I’ve worked with underserved populations at a local FQHC facility, caring for children and adults. I also have experience working in a long-term care facility, primarily with geriatric patients. I’m compassionate about working with those needing substance use disorder treatment, as I have lost a loved one to addiction.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, spending time with family, and learning new things.

Tanya Tanguay

Therapist
After four years in private practice, I decided to return to my passion: working with the most vulnerable populations and helping empower people to achieve and maintain substance-free lives. I come to Wayspring with 15 years of experience in addiction treatment services, and my style is direct yet compassionate, utilizing evidence-based approaches to therapy.

My primary goal is to help each person realize their best self and achieve lasting positive change in their lives.

Steve Ambrose
Therapist

My name is Steve Ambrose and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Chicago, IL. Prior to joining Wayspring, I spent nearly five years working as a therapist at a non-profit community clinic serving the residents of Humboldt Park. I have worked with adults, families, and children in both individual and group therapy settings. My therapeutic approach is more adaptive and eclectic–meaning, I tend to modify my approach based on the needs of the client sitting across from me and I will pull from different methods or schools of thought in order to best serve those clients. Whether you are looking for a more direct or structured style; a less structured, more open approach; a space for specific problem-solving; or something else entirely, let’s work together and figure it out. Regardless of what style or approach you may prefer or need, know that this curated space is collaborative, empathic, and without judgment. I look forward to meeting you, understanding your goals, and helping you to find a way to achieve those goals.
